With its decision of 12 May 1998 - 312 O 85/98 - “Liability for links”, Hamburg District Court ruled that the act of providing a link also involves assumption of responsibility, where applicable, for the contents of the linked site. This can only be prevented by explicitly dissociating oneself from such contents.
